Back in 2019, the world’s most popular 5G smartphone was not among the top smartphones. In fact, this 5G smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy S10 5G, actually ranked 363rd. Oh, how times have changed.
5G Smartphone Support in 2023 Q1
Among device usage globally, 5G support among smartphones has grown from 15% in 2021 Q4 to 35% in 2023 Q1. 5G smartphones have definitely entered the mainstream, doubling in usage in less than 2 years.
Top 5G Manufacturer Brands
Apple iPhones and Samsung account for most of the 5G phone usage. Apple accounts for 54.3% of the 5G device usage. Samsung accounts for 26.0%.

The iPhone 13 is the most popular 5G smartphone with 3.04%. 8 of the 10 top 5G smartphones are Apple iPhones.
Samsung S22 Ultra with 0.73% is the most popular smartphone that is not an iPhone.
